Rescue at sea is not complete until the rescued passengers feet touch dry land at a port of safety. Not allowing boats carrying rescued passengers to dock puts at risk the centuries old tradition and obligation under int’l law of rescuing people in distress at sea! https://t.co/rGnsenpQCt

Seeking asylum is a fundamental human right Not just in theory. People must be able to exercise that right in reality. NGOs do hugely important humanitarian work, saving lives in distress at sea. They should be celebrated, not stigmatised.
