An honour and pleasure to exchange with a group of young German women members of the @Bundestag and @Europarl_EN on global refugee and displacement challenges. Thanks @MunSecConf for organizing! @ZandaMartens @CatarinaDosSa @svenja_hahn @SerapGueler @schahinag @Ottilie_Klein https://t.co/jPRRcYBTab

I am shocked and saddened by reports that at least 10 refugees living in Sudan have died in an attack in Khartoum. UNHCR is trying to reach and provide support to survivors. All civilians are in danger in Sudan. Guns must be silenced if lives are to be saved and aid delivered.

As the conflict in #Sudan escalates, the two UNHCR offices in Khartoum were looted, and today, our warehouse in El Obeid was targeted, hampering efforts to maintain support to those in need. This must stop. We urge all parties to respect the assets of humanitarian organizations.

I told President El-Sisi about my visit to the Sudanese border. We discussed Egypt’s efforts to reconcile security concerns and its generous refugee policies. Egypt is committed to a humane approach towards refugees but needs donors and partners to help. @AlsisiOfficial https://t.co/iRehiTmQCP

At the Egyptian border post in Qustul, the main entry point for refugees from Sudan, I appealed to Egypt to keep the door open to those fleeing — and to international donors to urgently support ongoing relief efforts by the authorities, local communities and aid agencies. https://t.co/DQmyX694Uh

The generals fighting each other in Sudan should listen to the tragic stories I heard today from Sudanese refugees fleeing horrific violence. If the generals truly cared for their people they would stop fighting now. Aid organizations can help but the solution is in their hands. https://t.co/10SlxDnby4

.@GillianTriggs and I met @GCCtoUNOG ambassadors to discuss participation in the upcoming Global Refugee Forum. We also spoke about current refugee crises, especially Sudan, for which the support of GCC countries is absolutely crucial. Special thanks to @OmanGeneva for chairing! https://t.co/BmBgxZrR5n

Grateful to Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry for visiting us in Geneva. I look forward to travelling tomorrow to Cairo, where we will discuss how best to support Egypt — the country currently receiving the largest number of refugees from Sudan. @PMEgypt_Geneva @MfaEgypt https://t.co/cqUnZMy5GW

It was a great pleasure to be received by President Filipe Nyusi of Mozambique during his visit to Geneva this week. We discussed solutions for Mozambicans displaced by the action of armed groups and by the impact of climate change. UNHCR will continue to provide support. https://t.co/weSqfXqQgm
