Nobody rescued at sea should be brought back to detention centres in Libya. Nobody should be forcibly returned to Libya full stop. Unsafe for civilians, clashes are ongoing & fragmentation of control among multiple armed groups https://t.co/ss0PglLN39

The principle of rescue at sea has protected people for centuries. It's a vital principle that saves lives. Thanks to @seawatch_intl for bringing the remaining 47 rescued passengers safely to land. Rescuers should not face penalty for protecting this important institution.

@Premier801 @SorchaPollak I'm sorry but this is simply false. The violence & human rights violations they are leaving behind far outweigh any other influence. This is proven as when there have been no NGO boats, still people attempt to cross. The NGO 'pull factor' narrative has no foundation in reality

What is a refugee? What is a migrant? What is the difference? This great animation explains why refugees have special protected rights under international law https://t.co/F7Kd4pai1N

Not alone. We stand in solidarity with you, and others saving lives at sea! ✊ Without NGO boats, the Mediterranean would have become a cemetery for thousands of refugees trying to escape Libya. https://t.co/4GkcBFokRy

You cannot criminalise rescue at sea. You cannot fine or punish shipmasters for saving lives. Not only would it be entirely inhumane, it would be illegal. Here's UNHCR and @IMOHQ's guide to rescue at sea https://t.co/7ASjYBen2w

Great to see the Spokesperson for German Interior Minister, @der_Seehofer, stand against the criminalisation of NGO search & rescue boats. They have saved countless lives and should be supported. https://t.co/Tb4xS0Be8A

NGO search & rescue boats save lives. Thousands of lives would have otherwise unnecessarily been lost without their efforts. 65 people who are now safe in the knowledge they won’t be returned to Libya. Now to speedily bring them to safety on shore elsewhere. https://t.co/2XozZFkivW

There is more that brings us together than separates us. Great story of how a Christian, a Muslim and a Jew have come together to fight prejudice https://t.co/IT0Y9PQ8UV
