Good that no lives lost. But being returned to detention centres in Libya is nothing to celebrate. Nowhere in Libya is safe for refugees right now. We need to redouble efforts to find alternatives. Little use to save people from the frying pan by returning them to the fire. https://t.co/dXDIJLiFO8

654 people remain held in Zintan. All available options must be immediately pursued to release the remaining detainees. International community must urgently come forward with evacuations to get refugees out of these centres https://t.co/QIQUurfoLx

Renewed efforts are needed to prevent people who are rescued or intercepted on the central Mediterranean from being taken back to Libya. No one should be returned to Libya at this time. No where in Libya is safe for refugees. https://t.co/QIQUurfoLx

New detainees are being brought to detention centres faster than the rate at which people are being evacuated. More people (1,224) were returned to detention in Libya by the Libyan Coast Guard in May alone than in the rest of 2019 combined (1,126). https://t.co/QIQUurfoLx

In some parts of Zintan detention centre in Tripoli, toilets are broken and overflowing. Refugees are having to use buckets instead. There's a serious risk to their health because of the human waste & garbage that has been piling up https://t.co/t89JZG0rcK
