Europe once played a key role in creating modern day international refugee law. It is time to invoke that proud history of assisting people fleeing war, violence and persecution, + allow the rescued passengers on @seawatch_intl to come ashore - @cochetel https://t.co/Zf80vszT6g

New people are being brought to detention centres in Libya faster than we can get them out. 3,800 remain held in detention, at risk of getting caught up in the fighting. Libyan authorities should release all detainees immediately + close the centres https://t.co/7m1m0R93k4

The evacuees were from Eritrea, Somalia and Sudan, and included 65 kids under the age of 18. Finally they're out of harm's way. But many more vulnerable refugees remain inside Libya. States MUST come forward and help us evacuate them https://t.co/7m1m0R93k4

Imagine. These children had to walk around 300 miles from Raqqa in #Syria to #Jordan. They're now safe in Azraq Camp #StepWithRefugees https://t.co/hrR4a4zhCY

Sad news on #WorldRefugeeDay of 22 people dead/missing off the coast of Spain. Thanks to a passing Ferry and Spanish authorities for rescuing 27. More pathways to asylum are needed to stop people getting on the boats in the first place https://t.co/zpNDqSyQyE

Staggering Last year, more than 50% of all refugees were children under the age of 18. Millions of kids being deprived of their innocence & a normal childhood https://t.co/3zjlCNlArX https://t.co/Pn6EAMx4sd
