@SOSMedIntl Conditions are marginally safer on land. Violence in Tripoli has intensified in recent weeks. Yesterday an airstrike in southern part of city killed 7. Hundreds of civilians have died since April. All parties to the conflict MUST take every effort to prevent civilian deaths.

@SOSMedIntl 1st confirmed attempted crossing in some time. Sea journeys decrease this time of year because of winter weather+sea conditions but risk of death escalates sharply. Without more search+rescue capacity or alternative pathways to asylum, more people will die before end of year.
