@tomhfh Not a comparable situation. Turning the boats back would return people to Libya where they'd face detention+range of human rights abuses, not to mention be at risk of being caught up in war. And if by 'murderous incentives' you refer to a 'pull factor' this has been proven untrue

Around 1/4 of the group were evacuated from the GDF. Others were evacuated DIRECTLY out of detention centres OR urban areas. With not enough spaces to evacuate everyone in need, priority is given to refugees based on vulnerability. https://t.co/SilIgip4Ck
