A real hero. Gave his life for innocent bystanders and stood up for refugees. Rest in peace Jack. ✊? https://t.co/d6BWQHSfrd

@JFCrisp @kenanmalik @sallyhayd 1. It’s the most effective way for us to be able to support 40,000 refugees in need in Libya. Many outside the GDF are extremely vulnerable and need support. 2. Scrutiny is fine and important. Accusing our staff of deliberately starving refugees is a different story

@kenanmalik @sallyhayd An ‘interpretation’ of a shift in how food is provided as refugees being ‘starved’ is something I would dispute yes. And repeat of it. There are extreme challenges working in Tripoli. Our colleagues risking their lives+who are actually on the ground providing aid don’t deserve it

Extremely worrying reports of people being deported with no due process. What efforts are being taken to ensure that refugees are not being returned to danger? https://t.co/QimYJz1rl0

@kenanmalik @sallyhayd Cash assistance is available for food, accommodation+basic living needs. To suggest refugees are being ‘starved’, on which the headline+opening runs is therefore an unfair characterisation. Is it simply enough now to put such allegations out there+qualify with ‘if true’?

@JFCrisp @sallyhayd Hi Jeff, we’ve been updating quite a bit on developments at the GDF. Here’s a thread that might be useful where a lot of it is collared together https://t.co/3MbtvFrYDp https://t.co/CZNkmVysof

Latest from the GDF in Tripoli, Libya. UNHCR providing hot meals to refugees living at the GDF. We’ll continue to provide food until we switch to an expanded urban programme, where refugees can get cash for food, accommodation and basic living needs https://t.co/h1n6Q4UnsQ

@umasalam Security restraints and resources make this prohibitively difficult

@meronina @UNHCRLibya No one Is being starved, and especially not in an attempt to force them to leave. Other options are being made available. This article fails to reflect the alternative options being provided
