Civilians were allowed to cross into no-man's land by UA🇺🇦 side knowing that they would not be allowed into non-government controlled #Donetsk due to lack of capacity at quarantine hospital. Civilians continue to be main victims of lack of agreements at Minsk on practical things

Together with NGO partner Donbas Development Center, we worked until 4h30 this morning to make sure 33 civilians stranded in non-government side of Novotroitske crossing point could have a tent, food, water and hygiene supplies. Luckily there are no children #StayAndDeliver https://t.co/wsQBZKg75w

Yesterday, 160 people crossed into non-government controlled #Donetsk and were put into quarantine/isolation for 2 weeks at designated hospital. Last night @UNHCRUkraine visited hospital to assess conditions (which seem good) but collective quarantine is not recommended by @WHO

At 9h30, already 100+ and 200+ pedestrians queuing at EECP Novotroitske to cross into government controlled UA🇺🇦. Today, no cars/persons will be allowed to cross in opposite direction. It seems they are asked to sign a document saying they will not come back til quarantine over https://t.co/GOBfCbwI23

Wow. When I worked in #Bassikounou there was no electricity, no running water much less internet. Times are changing, sometimes for the better, but for #refugees confined to camps such changes may not be enough https://t.co/5gkFLHMHIf

It is urgent to find a humanitarian solution, such as allowing people to sign an affidavit, to be enforced through the police, that they undergo self-isolation, or to put them under observation

This group of people includes mainly older persons, but also two children, three cancer patients and one person who is insulin-dependent. They face risks to their life and health simply because they cannot afford smartphones.

Tonight they will sleep again in a tent at the EECP in an area where shelling is frequent. During the daytime, they have to wait in the area of the “zero” checkpoint, where UNHCR has seen people leaning against trees in mine-contaminated areas to stay out of the heat.
