Racism takes lives and perpetuates violence, inequality, oppression, marginalization, exclusion and injustice. We all have a responsibility to be actively anti-racist and #fightracism. Today on #IDERD, let us renew our commitment to listen, stand up, speak out, and combat racism. https://t.co/TaUOuiz6Lp

What is happening in the north of Mozambique is a humanitarian tragedy. Here in Ancuabe, Cabo Delgado, we met people whose family members were beheaded, children who are now orphaned. Those who've had to flee their homes are now without adequate food and shelter. https://t.co/hCkSLu2YMM

Displaced from home, many are without identity documents. This has serious consequences on their rights and access to life-saving assistance. A UNHCR-supported legal aid project is helping them with legal documentation. https://t.co/lTAAwMO7rI https://t.co/19ZC2tTNzE

We heard from women who were forced to flee their homes as their villages were attacked. They have now been displaced in Cabo Delgado for more than a year and unable to return home. https://t.co/0svC1yomZe

I am here in Mozambique this week with @RaoufMazou. Horrific violence against civilians in the northern parts of the country has forced almost 700,000 people to flee their homes. https://t.co/maUT8z2ERb

People fleeing war, violence and persecution must be granted access to asylum. This is a basic human right, guaranteed by international law, as recognized by 70 years of the Refugee Convention. https://t.co/uonCQZfuUR
