Best way to do this is set up a system beforehand for a safe port @Refugees+@UNmigration have proposed a way this could work Would involve countries across region, be predictable, allow for quick processing of asylum cases+a fair distribution amongst States for hosting refugees

@Petesmi38197724 No, no one should be returned to Libya after being rescued at sea. It’s not safe, intensifying conflict, widespread human rights abuses, dangers of falling in to the hands of smugglers and traffickers or forced recruitment by militias, to name just a few of the dangers

600+ refugees+migrants, who fled Libya on the Mediterranean+were rescued by an NGO boat, need food, water, medical care, shelter+most of all they need safety. A rescue is not complete until they reach a safety on dry land. A safe port is needed ASAP! https://t.co/TACuMSxdua
