Think how desperate the situation must be for you to risk the lives of you and your family by crossing the Mediterranean in winter. Often in flimsy, unseaworthy boats. Hope of a better future drives them across https://t.co/8YxZNCsr73

2 boats, @seaeyeorg and @seawatchcrew, currently hosting rescued refugees and migrants who were in distress on the Mediterranean. A port of safety urgently needed to provide them with humanitarian assistance.

A good news story to see the year out! 308 lives saved. 308 people who will see the new year. Great, brave work by crew of @openarms_fund & strong leadership from Spain authorities to receive them! https://t.co/vp0jVZbvgU

I traveled to Moria in late October. Overcrowding has since eased but winter conditions are making things worse. UNHCR is helping to evacuate refugees to the mainland where they're safe and warm. https://t.co/CObbC2pgUO

Security situation in Libya remains extremely volatile. A key factor in why the country is not currently a safe place for the return of refugees and migrants intercepted at sea https://t.co/OpMUjbAkbX

This year, UNHCR has evacuated nearly 3,000 people out of Libya to safety. But many more places are needed. We're urging countries to accelerate offers of places so we can remove people from detention centres. https://t.co/tTwuKTRh4f

Please watch/read & share widely, it needs to be seen. Arrivals to Europe across Central Mediterranean are down but for those that don't make it, they either drown at sea or are returned to Libya where they face detention & human rights violations. Is this a price worth paying? https://t.co/hjsYUkPg4c

No. Protect people from persecution without discrimination. Doesn’t Christianity itself say all lives are equal?? https://t.co/Uc8U0Grywk

No one should be returned to Libya after being rescued at safe. Reports of human rights violations in detention centres are widespread and the security situation is extremely volatile. UNHCR has repeatedly insisted that Libya is not a safe place for returns. https://t.co/qH7VlcgRkU

The next time someone tells you a conspiracy theory that would require high levels of Government competency and complexity, remind them that a drone shut the UK’s 2nd largest airport for two days
