@JFCrisp @Caro50886110 @yaxle @melissarfleming @RefugeesChief @cochetel UNHCR is opposed to detention of refugees & asylum-seekers. Once transferred to detention we advocate for their release. Seeking international protection should never be penalized. We also call for the amendment of current legislation to ensure compliance with intl standards.
