An intercommunal conflict in Cameroon has caused 40,000 refugees to flee to Chad. Today, at a reception site, I met refugee women from both communities determined to pursue reconciliation. It was inspiring to speak to them about the importance of their role as peacemakers. https://t.co/U5ebCzwHno

Un conflit intercommunautaire au Cameroun a fait fuir 40 000 réfugiés au Tchad. Dans un site d’accueil j’ai rencontré des femmes réfugiées appartenant aux deux communautés, déterminées à poursuivre la réconciliation. Je suis au Tchad 🇹🇩, un pays qui abrite presque 600 000 réfugiés soudanais, centrafricains et camerounais — certains depuis de nombreuses années — et dont la généreuse hospitalité mérite davantage d’appui international dans un contexte régional toujours plus complexe et fragile.

I am in Chad🇹🇩, a country that has been hosting nearly 600 thousand Sudanese, Central African and Cameroonian refugees — some for many years — and whose generous hospitality deserves more international support, in an increasingly fragile and complex regional context.
