A lesson from the humanitarian response in Ukraine is one of equity. The issue is not that Ukrainians receive too much — the needs are dramatic! — but that there is too little to respond to other crises. #EHF2023 is a valuable opportunity to discuss this and other urgent issues. https://t.co/ReW4oKbA6a

I have just visited earthquake affected areas in Syria and Türkiye and seen the gravity of humanitarian needs. Thanks to our partner @MOFAKuwait for supporting UNHCR with vital funding which enables our teams to continue reaching those most in need. @KuwaitiCM @KuwaitUNGeneva https://t.co/OSAvsbykYY

Very grateful to @eucopresident Charles Michel for a very constructive discussion on how UNHCR can best contribute to the asylum and migration debate in Europe; and the European Union can best support responses to humanitarian and refugee crises worldwide. https://t.co/xDo4MupaXd

Today is the first International Day to Combat Islamophobia. We at UNHCR join all those who fight against anti-Muslim discrimination, including when it affects refugees and other people forced to flee.

I’ve spent 5 days visiting earthquake survivors in Syria and Türkiye: many are refugees or displaced. I’ve seen their plight in Lattakia and Hama; in NW Syria which I reached in a cross border convoy; and in Southeast Türkiye. All need urgent humanitarian aid and help to recover. https://t.co/75GXoTiU3S

The extraordinary strength of women is the pillar of every community. For this reason as well we must never stop fighting the spread of gender based violence, which too often destroys societies by killing, wounding and discriminating women and girls. #InternationalWomensDay https://t.co/MgEqHdFl2q

Tomorrow is #InternationalWomensDay: special thoughts for #Rohingya refugee women and girls in Bangladesh. The @UN and 116 partners are asking donors to contribute US$876m to support humanitarian work for almost 1 million refugees and their hosts. They must not be forgotten! https://t.co/QRvRIDOmw3
