Fight the virus: refugees give back to the host community

UNHCR with partners in Northern Greece provided refugees and asylum seekers materials and equipment to produce face masks. The final products are distributed among the Greek host community, medical staff, beneficiaries of the ESTIA housing and cash assistance programme, and people living in camps. The goal of this initiative was to enable refugee and asylum seekers to contribute 20,000 face masks to the refugee and Greek host community. The sewing machines will also be used by partners to organize activities in their communal spaces.
