Three years after experiencing huge losses and displacement from Hurricanes Eta and Iota, a community near San Pedro Sula is determined to be ready for the next disaster. The story sheds light on the experiences of a community in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, highlighting the community's resilience and the impacts of climate change and natural disasters they face. It emphasizes the significance of community-driven initiatives and efforts to increase resilience. With the support of UNHCR, the community is receiving assistance to improve its disaster response capacity, including developing and implementing comprehensive disaster risk mitigation plans, specifically early warning systems, to better prepare for future climate-related crises. Three neighbours from the community share their experiences, and how the community have become stronger, united and more resilient to be prepared for natural disasters.
