In September 2024, we met Masimango Mango who was displaced by conflict in the eastern DR Congo. He had lost everything. He shared a plea echoed in this region for years - end the fighting. “We want our leaders to give us peace so that we can go back to our homes. Let’s have peace everywhere.” For years, Congolese have been longing for lasting peace so they can return to their homes. In war, civilians pay the highest price, but they hold on to hope for a better future. It’s time for peace. Lives depend on it.
