Afghanistan’s people have struggled with decades of war and dire poverty. The country’s harsh winters can be deadly for families in makeshift shelters with no protection from the cold. UNHCR is helping protect the most vulnerable through cash to help with rent, clothes and heating supplies like housing materials and warm blankets and other caring assistance.
