The Pemón people are the guardians of an immense nature reserve in southeastern Venezuela. But poverty is pushing many off their traditional lands. Informal gold mines threat their way of life, but Karina, the local chief of a Pemón community offers a solution to stay away from mining and recover their traditional ways, both cultural and economically.
