Raouf Mazou, the UNHCR Assistant High Commissioner for Operations has called for support for displaced families and refugees who want to rebuild in the Central African Republic (CAR). Mazou and other development partners are on a four day tour to the country to assess the situation there. Years of conflict have caused the displacement of 515,665 people in CAR. The country also hosts 11,699 refugees and asylum seekers, mostly from the DRC, South Sudan and Chad.
