Violence in DRC continues to devastate the most vulnerable #congo
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency
Description
Conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, continues to impact internally displaced people (IDPs) in the country’s east. Over 70,000 emergency shelters around Goma and Minova in North and South Kivu were destroyed in recent violence, leaving displaced families without a roof over their heads. UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is alarmed by the worsening humanitarian crisis in the country as lack of access to displaced people, hampers provision of aid. Hundreds of thousands of displaced people are now living in overcrowded makeshift shelters, churches, schools, and hospitals.
