“We Are Suffering Here” — Life as a Congolese Refugee in Burundi
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency
Description
Maseka crossed into Burundi after violence forced her family to flee eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Now, she says, they found safety but don’t have enough food, medicine or care for sick children. Queues for help are long. Needs are overwhelming. And more families keep arriving. This is the reality for over 88,000 Congolese refugees seeking safety in Burundi right now. Urgent support is needed to save lives.
