Sister Angélique Namaika, 51, a Congolese nun living in the northeastern town of Dungu, was the winner of UNHCR’s Nansen Refugee Award in 2013. That recognition has in turned helped further her remarkable work with displaced Congolese and refugees who have survived the aggression of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA).
