‘With 12 kids, I need a job that will take me far’

Farka had a full life on his farm near Timbuktu, in central Mali, but had to flee an armed insurgency in 2012, and wound up in exile in Mauritania. After years of surviving on subsistence aid, UNHCR’s job training programme has now equipped him with construction skills, enabling him to help support his family with 12 children, and to prepare for a return home.
