In october 2020, the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB, in its English acronym) established a Gender Related Task Force to improve the quality of its decisions. This task force is comprised of 24 highly qualified and experienced decision-makers. It is a specialized team trained to listen and decide gender-related refugee claims in a respectful and consistent manner and who are sensitive to trauma. In line with the IRB's proud history as a leader in the development of standards related to gender-based refugee claims.
