"I never thought I'd be able to get out of Libya; I truly believed I was going to die.” Says Ali about his time in captivity Libya. In Libya, Ali was held by three traffickers at different times. Eventually, he was evacuated to Niger through UNHCR’s Emergency Transit Mechanism (ETM) to evacuate vulnerable refugees and asylum seeker from Libya.
