When the civil war in Yemen began, Nour decided he should leave and go to Europe in search of a better life. He came to Egypt, where he met two smugglers who promised him a large boat was going from Alexandria to Italy and that he could work aboard and arrive in Italy that way - legally. They agreed Nour would pay the money when he arrived. But it turned out to be a lie. They were taken to the border with Libya, as Nour discovered when their car stopped and he asked someone where they were. He refused to be taken to Libya, but another car arrived with armed men who forced him to continue. They spent three days walking through the desert.
