Hannan and Mohieddin are a married Libyan couple who escaped the anarchy and chaos in Tripoli and went to Malta. Mohieddin had several times been attacked by gangs who robbed his store and beat him up. They contacted a smuggler who arranged their sea crossing to Malta. They sold everything they had, paid for the journey, and boarded the boat with their six children. They were four days at sea. The last day the situation became critical. They had lost their direction, they had no food left, and the sea was getting rough.
