UNHCR Deutschland
Description
UNHCR and partners have collaborated with Jordan’s Ministry of Higher Education since 2018 to support them with the roll out of their e-learning strategy. The UNHCR Education team has been working with the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education to provide university faculty with professional development focused on instructional design and the delivery of online and virtual learning modalities. The first training session on conducting student assessment online was attended by 50 professors, directors of e-learning centers, and ministry officials. Further sessions will focus on student engagement and collaboration. Due to those investments’ university students including refugee students could continue their learning in their home places during the COVID19 lock down. This break out session will present these good practices of investment in Connected Learning Education opportunities. This panel discussion was part of the interactive conference on "The Impact of COVID-19 on refugee education" on 19 June 2020 as part of the Long Night of Ideas organized by the German Federal Foreign Office.
