Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine almost a year ago, nearly one-third of the population has been forced to flee their homes. More than a million refugees from Ukraine have fled into neighbouring Poland, 90 percent of them women and children. Australia for UNHCR CEO Trudi Mitchell was recently in Poland, where she met with refugees from Ukraine and witnessed UNHCR's life-saving work on the ground.
