South Sudan–born Paraman Tot has led a remarkable life so far, from surviving a civil war and spending her earliest years in Kakuma refugee camp, to becoming a nurse, homeowner, mother, and now a national finalist in Miss Universe Australia. Her story is one of resilience, hope and ambition. Australia for UNHCR is the UN Refugee Agency’s national charity partner in Australia.
