More than 170,000 people have fled from the town of Kobane in northern Syria to escape a fierce offensive by ISIL militants. Faysal managed to escape to Turkey before the fighting in the cauldron of conflict intensified, but he still has some family left in the besieged town on the border. ̈In Syria before we never noticed if someone was Kurdish, Arab, Christian or Armenian. After the war we became a sectarian society, we became Druze, Kurdish, Alawite, Christian. Then ISIS came and they want to make an Islamic caliphate in Syria, but this is impossible because in Syria we are a pluralistic society.
