Supplies of UN humanitarian aid are already coming into Syria through the ports of Tartous and Lattakia, by air from Iraq and by and across the borders with Lebanon and Jordan. However, there are millions of people in need in areas in the north of Syria that the UN and humanitarian partners have not until now been able due to insecurity and live fighting. An 82-truck UN humanitarian convoy crossed into Syria from Turkey.
