The new coronavirus does not discriminate, but its consequences do. Brazil welcomes hundreds of thousands of refugees and migrants. Most come from Venezuela, searching for a safe life. This is a population especially vulnerable to the consequences of COVID-19. For this reason, UNHCR Brazil joined Operation Acolhida, authorities, civil society, and partners to support the construction of a field hospital in Boa Vista, Roraima. Follow the participation of the UN Refugee Agency in each of the stages of the project.
