During the crisis, I worked as a taxi driver,” says Aisha, a taxi driver & a member of women's committee in rural Damascus. Aisha and other women discussed needs and solutions for issues that the local community has at UNHCR-supported community centre. Challenging societal and gender roles, Aisha believes contributions that women can make to their community and families. “Women should work whatever is possible to support their families even as a driver,” she emphasized.
