Filippo Grandi, the 11th UN High Commissioner for Refugees, first visited Ukraine in 2016 and has made four visits since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, witnessing the massive destruction, humanitarian crisis and the strength of the Ukrainian people. He emphasizes that despite less attention, the war continues to severely impact Ukrainians and urges to continue international support for humanitarian assistance and future restoration.
