Iraqi refugee couple in Jordan among world’s first refugees to get COVID-19 vaccine

Raia and Ziad AlKabashi have been living as Iraqi refugees in Irbid, Jordan, since 2006, after fleeing the Iraqi war. They are among the first refugees in the world to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. They were prioritized for the vaccine because Ziad suffers from chronic diseases and are considered part of the high-risk category.
