Winterization Grant -Important Information for refugees living in Egypt- 2015

A video about the winterization grant distributed among the most vulnerable refugees in Egypt As the winter approaches and the temperature start falling; thousands of vulnerable refugees expose to the cold without any appropriate means. For this purpose, as from mid-December; UNHCR and UNICEF Egypt will be providing a one-time winterization grant for the most vulnerable families of all nationalities registered with UNHCR in Egypt. This cash assistance will support families to secure winterization items and to stay warm, healthy, and protected. Who is able to receive the winterization grant? Vulnerable refugees, among other families with children under 18 years old, families with children with disabilities, persons with serious medical conditions or pregnant women. What is the collection process for the winterization grant? Beneficiaries will receive a sms on their mobile phone indicating when to collect the grant. The amount of the grant varies according to the family size registered under one give case. Syrian refugees are able to collect their grant from any post office branch in Egypt. (Beneficiaries must present their asylum seeker card (yellow card)). African and Iraqi refugees are able to collect their grant from any bank of Alexandria ATM Machine or through Caritas office.
