Description
Sherif is an engineer and a former UN Staff member who dedicated his life to helping those in need. When the conflict broke out, he was in #darfur for volunteer work and in the blink of an eye, his entire life had changed. Like many others, he was forced to leave #sudan and seek refuge, no matter the cost. Even though his journey was a humbling one faced with many adversaries, Sherif vowed to do whatever it takes to start a new life in Egypt. He is now the owner of a pastry shop in Alexandria, serving signature Sudanese desserts while also offering work opportunities to fellow refugees who yearn for a sense of community after fleeing home. On the one-year mark since the conflict in Sudan broke out, over 8.5 million have been forcibly displaced.
