Description
After years of conflict and displacement, many families in Afghanistan do not hold valid civil documentation, including tazkira, Afghanistan’s national identity card. It prevents them from accessing vital services, including applying for certain jobs, obtaining a passport, or acquiring a driving licence. UNHCR supports local partners, run legal assistance programmes across the country, helping families to understand the importance of civil documentation, and supporting them to obtain the legal documents.
