Pablo Moreno Cadena is the 2025 Nansen Refugee Award Winner for the Americas
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency
Description
At a time when few business leaders were speaking up about refugee inclusion, Pablo Moreno Cadena took a bold stand. As a senior leader at MABE, a major appliance manufacturer in Mexico, he led the company to become the first major employer in the country to actively recruit and integrate refugees into its workforce. He didn’t do it for recognition; it was simply the right thing to do. The UNHCR Nansen Refugee Award was established in honour of Norwegian humanitarian, scientist, explorer and diplomat Fridtjof Nansen. This prestigious honour is given annually to individuals, groups or organizations in recognition of outstanding work to help refugees, internally displaced people and stateless people. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Information for media: If you would like to use this video to communicate refugee stories or require B-Roll, transcripts, stills or much more information, please visit our media page: https://media.unhcr.org UNHCR, the United Nations Refugee Agency, works to protect and assist those fleeing war and persecution.
