第一百萬名敍利亞難民 UNHCR One Million Syrian Refugees

難民署網頁 UNHCR website: http://www.UNHCR.org.hk/ 敍利亞發生內戰兩年，難民人數已達一百萬。大批難民逃難到鄰國尋求庇護，影響整個地區。聯合國難民署高級專員古特雷斯說：「已有一百萬名敍利亞人逃離了該國成為難民，但有更多平民在境內流離失所，如此大規模的逃難潮證明敍利亞境內情況極差，平民無法生活。」一百萬的難民中，一半是兒童，大部份更是11歲以下的幼童。「如果沒有國際社會的支持，難民署無法應付如此鉅大的災難，在敍利亞境內及鄰國提供救援。」救援機構預計難民數目應該在年中才到達一百萬，但敍利亞境內的戰火加劇令難民來的得更快、更多．．． Almost two years to the day....of the start of the Syria crisis the one million mark has been reached. Across the region, thousands of people have gone into neighboring countries. 'Today, we have registered one million Syrian refugees in the countries around. And this represents a massive displacement and this is the proof of the level of destruction and suffering that we are witnessing in Syria today,' said António Guterres High Commissioner for Refugees. Around half of the refugees are children, the majority under the age of eleven. 'Without massive support from the international community, it will be impossible to respond to this dramatic humanitarian situation in Syria and around Syria.' Humanitarian organizations had predicted reaching that number mid-year. But the reality on the ground in Syria has pushed that number higher, faster and as the conflict escalates. It will only grow.
