子寒和她的丈夫 - 兩名失明人士 - 與他們兩個小兒子逃離敍利亞，在危險旅途中乘船到希臘。她的丈夫繼續前去丹麥，並在那裡獲得庇護，但子寒和孩子們卻已等待了九個月，一直昐望與他重聚。 在母親能夠進行緊急的角膜移植手術之前，兒子們充當她的靈魂之窗，代她看見世界。被困和脆弱的一群，子寒和許多難民逃離殘酷戰爭已疲憊不堪，卻發現自己在歐洲不受歡迎。 Jihan and her husband -- both blind -- fled Syria with their two young boys, taking a perilous boat journey to Greece. Her husband continued on to Denmark, where he has been granted asylum, but Jihan and the children have been waiting nine months to join him. Until their mother can get a badly needed cornea transplant, her boys must be her eyes to the world. Stranded and vulnerable, Jihan bears the weariness of many refugees fleeing a brutal war yet finding themselves unwelcome in Europe.
