Today, millions of women and girls are living as refugees around the world, facing huge risks when forced to flee their homes. UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, works to promote gender equality and ensure their equal access to protection and assistance. Ahead of International Women’s Day on 8 March, we celebrate the resilience of refugee women and girls and our work to protect and empower women and girls in refugee communities across the world.
