This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Cartagena Declaration on Refugees. Through the Cartagena+40 Process, the way has been paved towards the Chile Declaration and Plan of Action 2024-2034, which will be adopted on 12 December 2024, in Santiago, Chile. These instruments will guide the actions of Latin American and Caribbean States to strengthen protection and durable solutions for refugees, displaced and stateless persons for the next decade.
