Mayor Adamowicz was a leader guided by his Christian values, and, as he told us, “the humanitarian obligation to help people. I felt it was up to us to take a lead.” What a tragedy and a loss. ?? https://t.co/mJhraW2Vqq

We are therefore appealing for significantly more resettlement places for vulnerable refugees. Poor and middle-income countries struggle to host the vast majority of the world’s refugees. Refugees are a responsibility the whole world needs to share. https://t.co/xf1Z7PVXOp

With political sentiment & public attitudes towards refugees having hardened in some countries, resettlement is sadly available only to a fraction of the world’s 25.4 million refugees - even to many, like @rahaf84427714, who are at greatest risk - in many cases women.
