@OzKaterji Dear Oz, I can assure you we are only helping people who choose to return, & those we met today in the Old City were internally displaced, living in terrible conditions wanting nothing more than to resume a dignified life in their shattered homes. They just need help.

#Now My reaction to returning to the old city of Homs in #Syria. Utter destruction but small numbers of people are returning to this part of town and repairing. If more are to come back, they need much more support. https://t.co/qr6naya6Ei

Before the war destroyed it, Souran Public Bakery provided bread for 75,000 people. UNHCR & Syrian partner SSDD rehabilitated a building and now it provides daily bread for 12,250 returned people. We got to taste a piece & it is delicious. w/@RefugeesChief https://t.co/UgtBuRlk6u

The AlShuhada school in the Syrian city of Souran was destroyed in the war. @UNHCRsyria w/ partner @premiereurgence restored for 700 students who returned from exile to start learning again. School is a place of healing and hope. https://t.co/dIMPLaZziN

Currently, there are 5,700 refugees and migrants in detention in #Libya, of whom 4,100 are assessed to be of concern to UNHCR and may have international protection needs. The conditions for them all are extremely dire. https://t.co/7EQxXP6Pyn via @refugees

Sign of the times spotted at the checkpoint entering #Syria. Here on a visit with @RefugeesChief to assess how UNHCR can do even more to address staggering humanitarian needs & also continue to work to address the obstacles & create an environment conducive to voluntary return. https://t.co/VX5OBLYi08
