I had constructive engagements in the US this week with government agencies and NGOs at the border and in Washington. Current restrictions are untenable but I had promising discussions on the US commitment to revive asylum procedures at the border, in line with international law.

Today we mark 7 years since we launched our #IBelong campaign to end statelessness. While much progress has been made, governments must do more to close the legal and policy gaps that continue to leave millions of people stateless. https://t.co/1GKgmX2nGl https://t.co/9LyLPdiJVX

International law prohibits collective expulsions. We call on states to respect the fundamental human rights of Haitians on the move and refrain from expulsions that are undertaken without proper assessment of their individual protection needs. https://t.co/rRLNuN9NB5

We are shocked by the tragic killing of Rohingya refugee leader Mohib Ullah. We condemn this attack in the strongest possible terms and urge authorities to undertake an immediate investigation and hold those responsible to account.
