3/3-As part of prevention measures, a fire station is being established and fire extinguishers are being installed. Trainings for Um Rakuba refugee fire safety committee have been held in December & new sessions are planned.

2/3-UNHCR and partners #COR @coopi @CARE_Sudan @drcEA_GL @NRC_EAY are providing assistance to the affected refugees, including temporary accommodation, emergency supplies and replacement of lost documentation. New shelters will be constructed for the impacted families.

1/3-Fire broke out in Um Rakuba camp (Gedaref State🇸🇩) on January 2. Thankfully, there were no fatalities nor injuries. Nearly 70 shelters were destroyed. A technical assessment established that the cause was accidental.
